RARE Antique Early 1900’s Bay State Rockaway Pattern Axe Head Boston, Mass.
Out of my own collection. 3.5lbs Rockaway pattern axe head by Bay State tool co. Of Boston, Massachusetts. Early 1900’s-19teens. Has pitting but no warps or cracks. Blades still sharp. Surprising because to me Rockaways always seem to be beat to hell. I know the history of Bay State Tools, I’ve seen axes by them before, I’ve seen rare axes come and go. I have never seen another Bay State Rockaway before or since this one. Couldn’t even find a picture of one. Please see all photos. Feel free to ask any questions.
